“What is honor compared to a woman's love? What is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms ... or the memory of a brother's smile? Wind and words. Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.”

Game of Thrones S04E08- The Mountain and the Viper

Game of Thrones S04E08 The Mountain and the Viper

“Mance and his army must be close. If they hit Mole’s Town, we’re next.”

From the official HBO synopsis: “Mole’s Town receives some unexpected visitors. Littlefinger’s motives are questioned. Ramsay attempts to prove himself to his father. Tyrion’s fate is decided.”

“The Mountain and the Viper” is written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and directed by Alex Graves. This is the third of four episodes Graves is helming this season. Photos from this week’s episode have been released, with new images of Ellaria, Sansa, Arya and more. The highlight of the new episode is expected to be the much-touted trial-by-combat, which Pedro Pascal assures will not disappoint fans. We can look forward to some intense wildling action, judging by the preview, which makes this week’s Player of Thrones all the more timely.

HBO has also released their “Previously On Game of Thrones” recap for “The Mountain and the Viper,” hinting at which past plot points may be significant in the new episode:

Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 8...What`s Next?

First of all, I have to end out what is a pretty sad reminder to all “Game of Thrones” fans: There is no new episode airing on Sunday night. Trust me that I am equally sad when it comes to this news.

I want to see where the story goes next!

Well, the one thing that I can say to all the non-book readers out there right now is pretty simple: If you thought that the shockers for this season are over, be prepared to think again. As a matter of fact, Sophie Turner doesn’t even think that the recent death of Lysa Arryn is going to rank anywhere near the top. For more on that, just look at what she had to say in a new interview with Zap2It:

“We all know the character that initiates the Moon Door incident is pretty shady anyway. I think there definitely will be one or two that surpasses [the Moon Door], because it’s deaths that happen because of someone that you wouldn’t suspect.”

Think of the last bit of that quote as a tiny teaser of what is to come for the final three episodes, which have quite the challenge. You have to find a way to make the Oberyn vs. The Mountain duel as interesting as possible, and then you also have to wonder if Jon Snow can survive the assault from the Wildings, and if we are going to see Arya and the Hound make it up to the Eyrie. If they do, they are going to have quite a few unexpected surprises waiting there. Remember, Brienne and Pod are also now seemingly heading in that direction.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 7- Promo and Predictions

The title of episode 7, “Mockingbird,” hints at yet another major story arc from book four, one involving Petyr Baelish, a.k.a. Littlefinger, last seen whisking Sansa Stark out of the city to safety (or so he claims).

The mockingbird is familiar to Game of Thrones as the preferred sigil of Lord Baelish, worn by him as a pin. But of course, this title could refer to something completely different. Here’s what we know so far:

4.01 Two Swords
4.02 The Lion and the Rose
4.03 Breaker of Chains
4.04 Oathkeeper
4.05 First of His Name
4.06 The Laws of Gods and Men
4.07 Mockingbird

Seven down, only three to go.

What do you make of this season’s already startling developments? Can the show possibly keep at this quick a pace for the rest of season 4?

Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 6 Pictures and Storyline Preview

In the preview and picture stills of Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 6 characters struggle against bonds of blood and law.

More than one character will find themselves on trial when Game of Thrones  Season 4, Episode 6 airs today.
The next Game of Thrones episode, titled “The Laws of Gods and Men,” will focus on Westeros’ trial of the century, as Tyrion Lannister stands against the accusation of murdering King Joffrey.

The preview for Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 6 indicates that, in addition to the courtroom drama of King’s Landing, a familiar face will return to the North in search of her own blood.

Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) made only one appearance in the third season of Game of Thrones, when she vowed to rescue her brother Theon from the Bolton’s sadistic grip. It looks like Yara will be making good on that promise in “The Laws of Gods and Men” – but will she be able resist the  darkness that has consumed her brother?

The preview also hints at other plot lines blossoming into fruition. Tyrion’s trial seems to be taking an unexpected toll on Jaime, who is apparently the only Lannister who does not want Tyrion dead.

On the other hand, Stannis Baratheon will finally move his butt off of Dragonstone to ask for money from the Iron Bank of Braavos.

The still pictures from Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 6 offer a glimpse at Mark Gatiss as banker Tycho Nestoris, along with images of Tyrion’s trial.

And of course, we can`t forget about Daenerys – who has decided to make herself queen of Meereen – looks reliably imperious on her throne. But are there dangerous days ahead for the last living Targaryen?

The official synopsis for “The Laws of Gods and Men” indicates that Dany will have a bit more to do than she previously has in this season.
Stannis and Davos set sail with a new strategy. Dany meets with supplicants. Tyrion faces down his father in the throne room.
Does anyone else want Tyrion to go all Tom Cruise in that courtroom?
